Check this out folks - a ClarkConnect 4.1 Linux (now ClearOS) box that has been running for 683 days straight - now that's stability!
Admittedly it's in a Data Center (co-location) with redundant power and all that jazz and yes, it REALLY needs to updated but I just can't do it! Going to let it run until the hardware reach EOL and I have to down it. ;) Just goes to show you how freakin' stable that OS really is! Kudos.
This just arrived in my inbox - a FC5 install that has been up for 430 Days. It's all about power ;)
This is a Mail Filter install located in a Macon, GA. So 430 Days is the best so far. <<-- Bragging rights...
365 Days on a ClearCenter v4.2 Office install in our data center. The redundant power grid helps. I need to upgrade it but just can't bring myself to reboot it! ..Jim
This one just in from David S. A wireless controller at a school system - up for 353 days. Nice. Even more surprising when you consider this is located in South GA where summer storms knock the power out for hours at a time. Must be a good UPS eh!
This one in from Chris G in Eastman, GA. Another ClearCenter install. Linux leading the pack so far.
This is a Linux Tapeless Backup Server - 175 Days up. Moves about 300Gb of data per week across a Fiber WAN. A solid little box.
Wes emailed this today - he, like most of us in rural Georgia, suffers from long power outages - the last one being for more than 2 hours around 75 days ago. Novell's Netware, although nearly End of Life was/is a really stable OS once you got it in and config'd and left it alone ;)
