Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Can you believe that the Modern Warfare 2 grossed over $310 million on it's first day of sales making it the single largest first day sale of any form of entertainment ever? What makes this such a interesting conundrum is that the title is M rated (17+), limiting it's target audience significantly but still smashing Hollywood and Gaming records across the board. I still have not picked up a copy - the $60 price tag and the fact that my gaming hours are now linked quite fundamentally to my 8 year old son's gaming time, all make me hesitant to make the plunge.
Castle Crashers
Looking for a game to play with your kids that will keep them (and you) coming back for more? I would highly recommend Castle Crashers from The Behemoth. This XBOX Live(r) game allows up to 4 players to co-op through some of the funnest levels of mayhem I have played in recent years. The concept is based around 4 Knights sent out to rescue 4 Princesses and the King's magical gem(?). It is layered with so much humor that we replay levels just to watch certain comedy skits play out.
Mainstay: Star Wars Battle Front 2
Life been a bit busy for much game play of late, but when I do get to play it tends to be Star Wars Battle Front 2. This game was given to me by my good friend Keith. This game is a mild T for teen but considering there is little to no blood and that if you play in the "Clone Wars" you are only shooting robots, it sits well when playing with your 8 year old. The graphics are a little dated by today's standards but the game play is fantastic...Rock Band 2
It should be obvious if you have read any posts on this site that Luke got Rock Band 2 for his Birthday this year (thanks Uncle Tony & Aunt Penny for the idea and contribution to the cost!).
I have to saw it surprised me. I was always of the opinion that kids should learn a instrument rather than pretend to play. The game surprised me for 2 reasons:
1) The drum part actually gives a good idea of rhythm and structure as it pertains to drum tracks within a song.Gaming
So those of you who know me well know that I am, and have been for a very long time, an avid gamer. Of course, work, kids and life in general have cut down the amount of time I can play these days but I do still play and this area of my site is related to my gaming life.
